How much does it cost?
This is the top question on most people’s minds. The best answer is, while the material and installation has associated costs, the offset of a decreased or eliminated electric utility bill can make going solar very inexpensive; and in some cases it can mean no additional cost to you on a monthly basis at all! Do I still get a bill from my power company?
Possibly. Depending what area of East Texas you are in, you may still be assessed a monthly or annual charge from your power company for being connected to their power grid. However, the offset from the power you produce yourself may help you achieve what we refer to as “Net-zero.” This means you produce as much or more energy than you need via the solar panels; potentially eliminating your charges from your power company for electricity consumption.
Can I still get energy from my panels on a cloudy day?
Yes you may. The panels are not only powered by direct sunlight. They can also collect energy form the sun’s radiance. While the clouds may reduce the efficacy of your panels they don’t always eliminate it altogether.
What is the incentive to go solar?
In a simplified way, you’re trying to reduce the amount of electricity you rent from the electric company and begin producing your own energy via ownership of your own panels.
